First Place Scholars Welcomes New Leadership

First Place Scholars Charter School recently welcomed new leadership to our team, continuing the work of providing high-quality education opportunities for students in our community who have great needs and few resources. We welcome Dr. Linda Whitehead as our interim school leader. A former superintendent, Dr. Whitehead has worked with teachers, parents and the community to help students excel in school. First Place wishes outgoing leader Evie Livingston well!

First Place Scholars also welcomes several new members to our Board of Directors. Each brings a unique base of experience and perspective and we are grateful to have them as part of the First Place Scholars team. Welcome to board president Dawn Mason and board members Evelyn Thomas AllenCordell Carter IIHannah Getachew and Anisa Mason. We extend our gratitude and best wishes to the transition board which led the school during a conversion to a public charter school that can provide opportunities and services for more students and their families.
